The history of the Lost in Space pistol
In the first season the laser pistol was a rebuild of a space gun toy produced by Remco.
During the enthralling run of the series, viewers were delighted to witness not just one, but two spectacular renditions of the iconic laser pistol. In the inaugural season, the laser pistol was ingeniously crafted by Remco from an ordinary space gun toy, lending it a quaint charm. Although this version made sporadic appearances even beyond the first season, fans were then treated to a newer, more futuristic iteration of the Lost in Space Pistol in silver that swiftly took its place from season two onwards.
These sleek and formidable weapons possessed an astounding capability to effortlessly slice through even the toughest of stone walls, as dazzlingly showcased in the thrilling episode titled "The Hungry Sea." Interestingly, however, despite their mighty prowess, the Lost in Space laser pistols proved wholly ineffective against a multitude of perplexing extraterrestrial adversaries encountered by the intrepid Robinson family. A classic example of this paradox was witnessed in the memorable encounter with the enigmatic Raddion creature in the nerve-racking episode aptly named "The Dream Monster." Even so, it is worth noting that the Lost in Space laser pistols displayed their true might by vanquishing one of the awe-inspiring giant cyclopses with a single short blast in the adrenaline-inducing episode aptly titled "There Were Giants in the Earth." Truly, the laser pistols stand as remarkable and pivotal artifacts in the galactic journey of the Robinsons, forever etching their mark on the rich tapestry of science fiction collectibles.
